One month ago, the energy on the Brooklyn Bridge was electric. Hundreds of you laced up your sneakers, waved the Ghana flag high, and walked with a singular, powerful focus: to bring sustainable healthcare and eye care to West Africa.
While the 10KM walk is officially wrapped, the impact of that day is just beginning to unfold. Thanks to your incredible turnout, dedication, and overwhelming spirit, we have successfully pushed the West African Health Foundation (WAHF) Eye Institute project closer than ever to the finish line!

Celebrating 25 Years of Healing
This year’s walk was particularly special as we celebrate WAHF’s 25th anniversary. For a quarter of a century, our global community has united to bridge gaps in healthcare accessibility. Seeing our supporters come together last month proved that the heartbeat of this mission is stronger than ever. Every step taken on that bridge honors decades of medical missions, community health education, and life-altering treatments.
What’s Next for the Eye Institute?
Because of your support, construction momentum on the ground in Juaben, Ghana, hasn’t stopped. The funds and awareness raised from the Walk-A-Thon are actively fueling our next physical phases of development, bringing us one step closer to opening the doors of this state-of-the-art facility and ending preventable blindness.
A Massive Thank You
An event of this scale is only possible because of a dedicated collective. We want to extend our deepest gratitude to our tireless walk committee, our volunteers, our generous corporate sponsors, and every single person who walked or donated from afar. You are the driving force behind this movement.

Keep the Momentum Going
We have come so far in 25 years, but the road to sustainable health requires finishing what we started. If you missed the walk or want to continue backing the project, you can still make a permanent mark on healthcare history.
Help us lay the final bricks and complete the Eye Institute by making a donation today.
