What to Expect
Sightseeing & Cultural Experiences
Begin your adventure with guided tours of Ghana’s bustling capital, Accra, and the cultural hub of Kumasi. Dive into Ghanaian history with visits to the poignant Assin Manso slave river site and the historic Elmina Castle. Stroll through colorful local markets, where you can shop for unique crafts and connect with the vibrant energy of Ghanaian daily life.
Volunteer at the WAHF Health Fair
In Kumasi, participate in the WAHF Health Fair—a cornerstone event showcasing WAHF’s healthcare initiatives. Witness firsthand the transformative work being done, particularly the development of the Hospital of Excellence in Juaben. This is a chance to see how your support makes a difference and to lend a helping hand.
Delicious Ghanaian Cuisine
Savor the flavors of Ghana with a welcome dinner on a rooftop overlooking the city, daily breakfasts, and a variety of local lunches and dinners. The trip culminates in an elegant farewell dinner celebrating the rich culture and cuisine of Ghana.
Fundraising Focus: The Hospital of Excellence
At the heart of this trip is WAHF’s mission to establish the Hospital of Excellence in Juaben, near Kumasi. The first phase of this ambitious project is the Eye Institute, initiated in December 2019.
As of today, we are thrilled to report that the tiling of the facility is nearing completion. However, there is still work to be done to fully realize our vision of providing exceptional eye care to treat preventable blindness in Ghana’s underserved communities.
